Android: MangaWatcher

MangaWatcher is the best app for viewing/downloading/storing your library of manga, and now comes with a browser counter part and allows for syncing across devices.

MangaWatcher in google chrome browser at mangawatcher.org

I have been using MangaWatcher for a few years now, I found it while on a safari hunt for a decent manga viewing app on android, but most of them were just glorified image viewers, MangaWatcher was the first to bring a true manga experience to me.
Not only does it have a good amount of settings to tinker about for downloading the manga pages, deleting after having read them (or not) checking for updates to the mangas (!!!!), the ability to sync to an online account (to never loss your library), as well as being able to search/view from your favorite site!

There is no genre search or filter as of now on the site, instantly making the android app better (see two sections down).

As I mentioned above, you have a lot of different options when it comes to WHERE to get your manga, and you dont have to pick just one. I grab a bunch of manga from MangaHere, but also love MangaPanda, sometimes I even use the "search" option which will search through ALLLLLL the different sites at once. I prefer searching one catalog at a time instead of using the search option, but that is because I normally use the android app instead of the browser (all images so far are from the browser).

Mangawatcher in android using the android app only found at manga-watcher.com

The android app of MangaWatcher is what started it all, and its better than ever now a days, that little black "cloud" you see in the top right corners of my manga is an indicator telling me the manga and my progress/info regarding it has been backed up to the browser version. This allows easy moving of my library to another android device.
Enough about that. The android app is amazing, even more so than the browser. This mainly is attributed to the apps filtering options (seen in next section). But also because its so handy, I use a nexus 7, which is perfect for viewing manga on this app. There is one or two hiccups with the app, as can be expected with something free and so amazing with tons of features. You will not find this app in the playstore so dont waste your effort, it does however have its own site (link under image above). Grab it, use it, love it, spread it.

^ All that porn...

The biggest difference (minus options obviously) between the browser and app is the catalog/manga picking. As seen above you dont have the same interface as the browser, instead you pick a catalog first, then are moved to a new screen to pick a manga (next section). You have probably noticed you have more options to, such as google drive and other cloud options plus adding from SD card. MangaWatcher app really lets you do everything.

Im doing a review on "Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari", soon, sooooooooooooon...

As I think I mentioned before, the android app allows for filtering genres to search for manga within a catalog (the browser is not capable of this...yet). This I love, though I do wish I could exclude genres (I hear its being worked on). This system makes it just as easy to find manga with the app as it would be using the actual websites (mangapanda, mangahere, mangafox) without the hassle of loading them on your device.

I even create new groups (in one pic you see the title "unsorted" at the top, that is what you get when you have no groups made) for my mangas, I added 5 star, 4 star, 3 star, and 2 star (1 star I just delete). 5 star mangas are my rereadables, ones I just keep going back to. 4 star are my memorable ones, mangas that I really love and recommend to others but just dont read much more than once or twice. 3 star are the ok ones that I forget about after a day or so. 2 star are ones I end up not really caring about, but want to care about.
